Don Giovanni

I’m listening to the new Don Giovanni recording.  I agree with all of the reviews - it is quite a spectacular recording.  

Joyce DiDonato and Diana Damrau are incredible as Elvira and Donna Anna.  It’s as though Damrau was born to sing Mozart.  Luca Pisaroni is great as Leporello (is anyone surprised?) and Rolando Villazon is pretty good as Don Ottavio (I am surprised about that one, although he seems to do what he normally does - make up for questionable technique with passion).  I’m only about halfway through, and I’m liking Ildebrano D’Arcangelo as Giovanni.

I have decided I am going to try and get the album signed by as many cast members as I can.  It’ll be my challenge for 2013 =D
